Sometimes I am wondering if they will be friends again, or just accept the situation. One dog is my brown doberman, PrezLee, the other is a male Saint Bernard,my mothers dog, named Gyozo. Actually Gyozo is “at home”, and the boss, and when we go there PrezLee, the brown doberman is the guest. The good thing is that my doberman doesn’t start the fights, but sometimes Gyozo does. He must show ho is the boss in the yard I guess.
They had about 2-3 fights, not “deadly” just bad looking, PrezLee had a fee scratches but he “survived” and actually accepted that “Gyozo is a moron sometimes but I don’t care”. He didn’t accepted that the other dog is the boss, he simply doesn’t cares. This behavior of course annoys the other dog, who tries to show his highness 
. And because he is with more than 20 kg. heavier than the doberman, actually he has more “to say”.
We always try to stop this BEFORE it begins, and it works really well. The dogs don’t just start a fight, they “behave” before. And if in the right time they get the “NOOOO, DON’T BE BAD BOY!!” they don’t try to fight.
The good thing is that probably Gyozo is a little bit bored and missing his good pal. They were almost like “growing up” together. And the last 2 times, I noticed that he tries to invite PrezLee to play. Last weekend we visited my parents again, and guess what the 2 dogs were playing in the yard.
There was an obvious tension between them, but I think this is like a new discovery, and we need to be there, but let them to “deal” with the issue. So can’t wait to go next time, and let them play again. It is not easy to have 2 male dogs. But I am confident that they will be maybe not friends, but accept the situation as is.
I guess there are ways to get two male dogs to be friends, yet in nature, they just fight it out. Are they neutered?
as far as I know, 2 dominant dogs cannot be “friends”. Because they can’t decide between them, who is the boss. If this one accepts that the other is in higher position, than the fights are almost over or very rare. The third thing, with dogs is that in the herd their place is the “lowest” First comes the people in the family, and than the dogs. They are never allowed to became the most dominant from the “herd” because that is very dangerous for the family.

I was just thinking. I have enjoyed reading your stories of you and your dog. I am thinking you could write books: “PrezLee, Adventures with a Brown Doberman.” Children would love these stories. You could get very creative with it, and I believe you could have magnificent tales. Hummmm, please consider!
