My Dober-gurl is 4 months old and just beginning her crazy stage. Running, jumping, high energy, into everything, wearing me out. I am playing with her a lot and training her all the time, but it sometimes works and sometimes does not. I enjoy her now, but I will love it when she is two and settled down a bit.

I was just thinking. I have enjoyed reading your stories of you and your dog. I am thinking you could write books: “PrezLee, Adventures with a Brown Doberman.” Children would love these stories. You could get very creative with it, and I believe you could have magnificent tales. Hummmm, please consider!

as far as I know, 2 dominant dogs cannot be "friends". Because they can't decide between them, who is the boss. If this one accepts that the other is in higher position, than the fights are almost over or very rare. The third thing, with dogs is that in the herd their place is the "lowest" First comes the people in the family, and than the dogs. They are never allowed to became the most dominant from the "herd" because that is very dangerous for the family.
well this is what I understand from all I have read.

I guess there are ways to get two male dogs to be friends, yet in nature, they just fight it out. Are they neutered?

Now that I have made my mind up that a Doberman is the breed I want, I can hardly wait to get my puppy. However, since I am not interested in showing or breeding, I have to wait to see what the mom has. Then, if there are pet/companions, I may get one according to the waiting list. The puppies will be born in the next couple of weeks.

I have studied a bit "The Dog Listener" by Jan Fennell and watched a bunch of videos by zakgeorge21 ( http://www.youtube.com/user/zakgeorge21 )
With my dog, the best way to train it was by rewards. Positive reinforcement works like a charm.

I have been studying all kinds of information on training my Doberman. Do you have a preference of trainer or training materials?
